Haldor Topsoe offers specialized low-carbon hydrogen unit

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 18

By Leman Zeynalova - Trend:

Haldor Topsoe offers a specialized low-carbon hydrogen unit, H2bridge™, that can be integrated with the HydroFlex™ unit for renewable fuels production, the company told Trend.

“Processing renewable feedstocks requires much more hydrogen than processing fossil feedstocks. Topsoe offers a specialized low-carbon hydrogen unit, H2bridge™, that can be integrated with the HydroFlex™ unit for renewable fuels production. H2bridge™ is a circular solution that will enable refiners to replace external fossil feedstocks, like natural gas, with renewable LPG and/or naphtha to produce hydrogen,” said the company.

In the production of motor and jet fuels, hydro-processing of renewable feedstocks is an area that is developing very quickly in several regions due to legal requirements, said the company.

“Based on our fundamental and applied research & development, we have optimized our catalyst technology and process design, and, today, we are world market leaders in technologies to hydro-process renewable feedstocks such as vegetable oils and waste into fuels.

HydroFlex™ is our tried-and-tested technology for hydrotreating renewable feedstocks. For co-processing or processing a 100 percent renewable feedstock, Topsoe's solutions provide full feedstock flexibility and enable clients to produce clean fuels from a wide range of feeds, including vegetable oils, animal fats, used cooking oils, pyrolysis oils, residues from pulp mills, etc. We tailor the unit design and catalyst selection to produce high-grade gasoline, jet fuel, and diesel. Not only do these fuels meet international standards, they are also fully compatible with modern combustion and jet engines and can be blended safely with regular fuels.”
