Iran plans to produce 1,100 tons of Methanethiol product annually over the next two years, new Deputy Oil Minister and CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Majed Chegeni said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.
According to Chegeni, in this regard, a number of operations are being carried out at the 3rd refinery of the South Pars Gas Company (SPGC).
The deputy minister added that at present, Iran can produce 550 tons of Methanethiol a year.
“Iran’s Methanethiol production capacity will reach 800 tons in the next six months,” he said.
The CEO noted that the Methanethiol is currently being produced at the SPGC's 1st refinery. Iran is the third largest producer of this product in the world.
