Iran's EOGPC plays key role in supplying gas to north provinces of country

Iran's East Oil and Gas Production Company (EOGPC) plays a strategic role in supplying gas to six provinces in the north and north-east of the country, Executive Director of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC), Ramin Hatami said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

According to the director, currently, daily 64 million cubic meters of gas are extracted in the territory of the company.

Hatami noted that a total of 1.66 billion cubic meters of gas have been supplied into the company's Shourijeh D underground gas storage facility for the first 7 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2021), of which more than 1.5 billion cubic meters have been taken from the gas storage facility by February 14, 2022.

The East Oil and Gas Production Company is operating under the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC). The company works the Khangiran and Gunbadli gas fields. The company extracts 62 million cubic meters of gas per day. The Khangiran gas field has 480 billion cubic meters of gas reserves. About 17 million cubic meters of gas are extracted daily from this field.

The Shourijeh D underground gas storage is located in the Razavi Khorasan Province (north-eastern Iran).
