BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 25. The volume of natural gas production in Kazakhstan amounted to 405.1 million cubic meters in May 2022, which is 15.7 percent less than the same month in 2021, but 13.5 percent more than in April 2022, Trend reports citing Kazakh Statistics Committee.
According to the committee, natural gas production in Kazakhstan amounted to 4.6 billion cubic meters in the first five months of 2022, which is 5.6 percent less than the same period last year.
Kazakhstan imported 380.8 million cubic meters of natural gas in May 2022, which is 43.1 percent more than in the same month in 2021, but 30.3 percent less than in April 2022.
Kazakh natural gas imports amounted to 3.4 billion cubic meters from January through May 2022, which is 18.9 percent less than the same period in 2021.
Kazakhstan exported 1.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas in May 2022, which is 15.7 percent less than the same period last year, but 16.9 percent more than in April 2022.
Export of natural gas in Kazakhstan amounted to 6.08 billion cubic meters from January through May 2022, which is 20.1 percent less than the same period last year.
Natural gas was not sold in the Kazakh domestic market in May 2022.
The volume of selling of natural gas in the domestic market amounted to 1.9 billion cubic meters in the first four months of 2022, which is 29.5 percent more than the same period in 2021.
