BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 11. Gas consumption in Iran on January 10, increased by 40 million cubic meters compared to January 9, 2023, Manager of the Dispatching Department of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Mohammad Reza Joulaei said, Trend reports citing Shana News Agency.

Joulaei noted that a total of 660 million cubic meters of gas were consumed by residential buildings and commercial facilities in the country on January 10, approximately 70 percent of which was consumed in the northern provinces of Iran.

The official added that taking into account the continued cold weather in the country, gas consumption is expected to reach 700 million cubic meters per day.

He also said that the thermal power plants in the northern provinces of the country are not supplied with gas and that’s why the mentioned stations use other fuels.

Currently, Iran produces 977 million cubic meters of rich gas daily. After refining, 843 million cubic meters of gas are supplied to the country's gas network daily.
