BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 16. The total volume of electricity generated by the power plants of Azerbaijan’s AzerEnergy OJSC in 2022 was 26.18 billion kilowatt hours, Trend reports via the Ministry of Energy.
According to the ministry, 24.7 billion kilowatt hours of this volume accounted for TPPs (thermal power plants), and 1.47 billion kilowatt hours - HPPs (hydroelectric power plants).
"During the reporting period, the State Energy Service of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic generated 474.8 million kWh of electricity (TPPs – 315.84 million kWh, HPPs – 102.52 million kWh, SPPs (solar power plants) – 56.41 million kWh), ‘Azerishig’ JSC produced 62.6 million kWh at wind power plants, and 2.26 billion kWh at other power plants," the ministry said.
The generation of electricity from renewable energy sources, including HPPs, exceeded 1.9 billion kilowatt hours last year.
