BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 22. The Shah Deniz gas and condensate field, located offshore in Azerbaijan, has yielded a total of 202 billion cubic meters of gas since commencing commercial production in 2006, said Azerbaijan’s energy minister Parviz Shahbazov, Trend reports.

He noted that out of this volume, approximately 143 billion cubic meters were exported.

Minister Shahbazov expressed his belief that Azerbaijan's oil and gas resources will remain a top priority for numerous countries in the years ahead, given the demand projections and the continued necessity for dependable and secure supply routes.

The existing Shah Deniz facilities’ production capacity is currently about 72.6 million standard cubic meters of gas per day or approximately 26.5 billion standard cubic meters per year. Shah Deniz participating interests are: bp (operator – 29.99%), SGC (21.02%), LUKOIL (19.99%), TPAO (19.00%) and NICO (10.00%).

The latest data of bp reveals that in the first half of 2023, the Shah Deniz field produced about 13 billion standard cubic metres of gas and more than 2 million tonnes (about 18 million barrels) of condensate in total from the Shah Deniz Alpha and Shah Deniz Bravo platforms, remaining unchanged year-on-year.
