BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 6. This summer, it is planned to perform the Absheron EPS's first shutdown for maintenance and inspection, JOCAP (Joint Operating Company of Absheron Petroleum), told Trend.
“The projected production amounts for 2024 are 1.48 billion standard cubic meters of gas and 4.1 million barrels of condensate,” said the company.
JOCAP noted that while the Absheron EPS (Early Production Scheme) Project was moving towards the successful completion date, the teams were working on the Full Field Development (FFD) of the Absheron field.
“Together, the partners have teamed up to define the elements of architecture of the future development concept for the Absheron field. In that perspective, a number of engineering studies and research have been launched that will undergo examination by the V teams,” the company said.
The Absheron field is located offshore Azerbaijan in the Caspian Sea in 500m depth of water, about 100km southeast of Baku, 25km north east of the Shah Deniz field and 33km south of Oil Rocks production and processing facilities.
In 2009, SOCAR and Total signed an Agreement on Exploration, Development and Production Sharing in the Absheron Offshore block in the Azerbaijan Sector of the Caspian Sea. According to this Agreement, SOCAR and Total had an equal share of 50 percent.
The Absheron EPS project consists of a single well (ABD-001) connected to SOCAR operated Oil Rocks facilities. The operatorship of the Absheron EPS is the responsibility of a Joint Operating Company of Absheron Petroleum named JOCAP, owned by SOCAR Absheron (35 percent), TotalEnergies EP Absheron B.V. (35 percent), and ADNOC International Project Co 1 RSC Limited (30 percent).
