Oil Delivery via Odessa- Borda  Pipeline to be Discussed in   Tbilisi: Minister

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend A.Ismaylova / The Minister of Industry and Energy of Azerbaijan, Natig Aliyev, stated on the 19th of June in Baku that a conference will take place in August in Tbilisi to discuss the issue of oil delivery via the Odessa- Borda pipeline.

"Presently a special group is working. The next meeting will take place at the end of August in Tbilisi to co-ordinate the positions of the sides. An energy summit of the State Heads will take place shortly, to finalize the decisions on how the State will participate in realizing the Odessa- Borda -Gdansk pipeline," the Minister stated.

The meeting attended by the Presidents of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Lithuania and a representative of Kazakhstan within the energy summit in Krakow made a decision to actively co-operate. Hence, by beginning work on Inter-Governmental Agreements which will regulate the participation of the States and companies within the project of transporting Caspian oil to the European world markets via the Odessa- Borda pipeline.

During the summit the sides reached an agreement to establish a joint venture to manage the Odessa- Borda pipeline which is 667km in length. The Odessa- Borda pipeline was opened in August 2001.

"Presently we are constructing a plan on how to create the infrastructure making it beneficial for all States," Aliyev said.
