Azerbaijan's transactions through clearing system for small payments increase

Some 83,000 transactions on payments in the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) were carried out in Azerbaijan of the beginning of October 2020, Trend reports with reference to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

The amount of operations performed under IFRS amounted to 15.9 billion manat ($9.3 billion), which is 7.4 percent less than om the same period of the previous year.

Some 5.3 million transactions were conducted in the amount of 2.4 billion manat ($1.4 billion) through the settlement clearing system for small payments, which reflects an increase in annual circulation by three percent.

As of the beginning of October this year, banks ' receipts through high-speed money transfer systems amounted to 154.1 million manat ($90.6 million), which means a decline of 16.3 percent year-on-year. Some 87,300 transactions were made on money transfers outside the bank in the amount of 74.8 million manat ($43.9 million), which is 10.8 percent less than in the same period last year.

As of the beginning of October 2020, the turnover on debit and credit cards through ATMs and POS terminals in Azerbaijan amounted to 2.425 billion manat ($1.4 billion), which is 26.9 percent more than last year.
