A total of 8.06 million tons of goods worth 533 trillion rials (about $12.7 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the 6th month of the current Iranian year (August 23 through September 22, 2021), Trend reports citing IME’s official portal.
This is an increase of 49 percent in terms of value and 70 percent in terms of volume compared to the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 23 through August 22, 2021).
So, 4.72 million tons of goods worth 356 trillion rials (about $8.46 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) during the 5th month.
According to the statistics, 2 million tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth 262 trillion rials (about $6.23 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of the IME in the 6th month.
"About 521,000 tons of bitumen, 418,000 tons of various polymeric substances, 163,000 tons of chemicals, 17,000 tons of base oil, 3,500 tons of slaps wax, 643,000 tons of vacuum bottom, 34,600 tons of sulfur, 1,610 tons of anti-moisture coatings (facades) and 194,000 tons lube cut products were sold in this section," the statistics said.
According to the statistics, 6.02 million tons of products worth 265 trillion rials (about $6.3 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of the IME over the reporting month.
"So, 1.05 million tons of various steel products, 4.65 million tons of cement, 250,000 tons of iron ore, 19,100 tons of copper products, 84 tons of precious metal concentrate, 720 tons of molybdenum concentrate, 28,000 tons of aluminum, 400 tons of coke, 16,800 tons of zinc ingots, 31,000 tons of sponge iron, and 108 kg gold bars were sold in this section within 6th month," the statistics said.
At the same time, 39,200 tons of various products worth 7.06 trillion rials (about $168 million) were sold in the sub-market section of the exchange in the sixth month, the statistics said.
Furthermore, 860 kilograms of saffron worth 98.8 billion rials (about $2.35 million) were sold in the agriculture section of the IME.
