BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 29. Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al-Saud and Azerbaijani Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev discussed cooperation between the two countries on the green economy and COP29 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia's Energy Ministry said, Trend reports.
"During the meeting in Jeddah, the two ministers discussed opportunities for cooperation between the two countries on climate change. They also talked about joint efforts to achieve the goals of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement," the statement of the ministry reads.
The meeting also discussed the development of renewable energy sources as well as green initiatives by Saudi Arabia and Middle Eastern countries to manage, reduce, and eliminate greenhouse gas emissions.
"The ministers discussed ways to develop a circular carbon economy. The use of Saudi Arabia's green economy technologies, national and regional programs, and initiatives were also touched upon," the information says.
