The Azerbaijani National Aerospace Agency plans to introduce PCI Geomatica software for processing of aero-photo and satellite data, first deputy general director of the Agency Tofig Suleymanov told Trend.
He said currently negotiations are being conducted with the Russian Geo-Alliance Company, which is the official authorized provider of PCI Geomatica software.
PCI Geomatica, developed by the Canadian PCI Geomatics corporation, is used for photogrammetric processing of remote sensing data and to prepare them for future use in cartography, GIS projects and other applications.
Introduction of the system will enable the Agency to process the data obtained from satellite sensing. Geo-Alliance has distribution agreements with owner companies of satellites Digital Globe / Hitachi Software, European Space Imaging, GeoEye, SPOT Image, Infoterra GmbH, and is a partner of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
