A new draft law on electronic signature has been prepared in Azerbaijan, a source in the country's IT market told Trend Sept. 26.
The source said the draft law will be submitted to the government in the near future.
The draft law takes into account the provisions of the European eIDAS Regulation, providing for a regulatory environment for safe and smooth interaction between government agencies, enterprises and citizens.
"We are talking about the harmonization of Azerbaijani legislation with the European laws. Of course, it will also require preparation of standards, rules and requirements, which will also be ready soon," the source said.
The new legislation will allow Azerbaijan to mutually recognize e-signature certificates with European countries.
