The banking sectors will have to work on increasing the functionality of mobile and internet banking in 2021, Dmitry Satin, cyber threat specialist at the Russian company USABILITYLAB LLC said at the FINTEX SUMMIT ONLINE event, Trend reports on Jan.29.

According to Satin, some users have complaints about banks' mobile applications due to the fact that the application has a very large functionality.

"Banks intend to present on their platforms as many methods as possible to pay for the services of certain organizations. Commercial organizations avoid mobile applications with a minimum number of solutions related to payment for services," he said.

Besides, he identified three main areas in which the digitalization of banking systems should be oriented: personalization and customization, convenience and simplicity of forms, as well as on-boarding (the process of adapting a client to a new product).

According to the specialist, in the direction of personalization and customization, among the main types of work, it is worth noting: relevant content, application of data based on customer decisions, adaptive design and other user values.

"In the field of convenience and simplicity of forms, it’s necessary to use the data required by the bank's clients: simple data entry forms, solving financial issues on ‘here and now’ principle,” he added.

Speaking about the third possible orientation of banks, Satin noted that banks need to work towards simple navigation, consistency, providing future and current customers of the bank with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the products, as well as accompanying a new customer through artificial intelligence to the function and required capability.
