Turkmenistan to buy equipment for data transmission network from Emirati company

The Turkmen Communications Agency will purchase equipment from the Emirati Beat Trade FZE to modernize the multiservice data transmission network, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmenportal information portal.

According to the information, the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree authorizing the Turkmenvyaz agency of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers to conclude a contract with the Beat Trade FZE for the purchase, delivery, installation, launch of appropriate equipment, software and licenses for modernization of the multiservice data transmission network, as well as the provision of technical support.

It is reported that the document was adopted in order to further improve the ongoing work on the implementation of the "Concept for the development of the digital economy in Turkmenistan for 2019-2025."

Signing this Resolution at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the president of Turkmenistan stressed that the country is currently implementing program measures to digitize all spheres of the national economy, introduce scientific developments into production, which is of great importance in improving the activities of industries in accordance with the requirements of the time.

Focusing on the need to strengthen the work carried out in this direction, to further modernize the industries, Berdimuhamedov instructed the head of the Agency to intensify the implementation of digitalization projects, paying special attention to building up the relevant infrastructure.
