Azerbaijan Participating in Conference of Regional Cooperation in Telecommunication

Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. S. Babayeva/ A delegation representing the Azerbaijan Telecommunication and IT Ministry is participating in a Kiev conference held by the Regional Cooperation in the Field of Telecommunication that goes to 20 April, a source in the Ministry said.

The Azerbaijani delegation is headed by Novruz Mammadov, the head of the Postal Service of the Country, who is also Deputy of the Chairman of Regional Cooperation in the Field of Telecommunication on Mail Service.

The seminar for the Mail Administrations of the Regional Cooperation in the Field of Telecommunication - "The Quality and Efficiency of Mail Service" will be included, among other items on the agenda that are connected with preparatory works for the 24th World Mail Congress to be held in Nairobi ( Kenya) on 13 August - 3 September, 2008.

Notably, the last meeting of the Mail Administrations of the Regional Cooperation in the Field of Telecommunication was held in Baku in September, 2006.

The Committee for Mail Service of Mail Administrations of the Regional Cooperation in the Field of Telecommunication is a working body of the Regional Cooperation in the Field of Telecommunication. The tasks of the mentioned Committee are as follows:

- Coordination of the activity among all participants of the Regional Cooperation in the Field of Telecommunication in solving issues regarding bringing the development of mail service within the united mail space;

- Ensuring cooperation among the Telecommunication Administrations of the Regional Cooperation in the Field of Telecommunication in elaborating interstate programmes, forming concepts on scientific and technical policy and the introduction of new high technologies;

- Preparation for holding joint arrangements on ensuring the stability of functioning interstate mail services and mail delivery of the Telecommunication Administrations of the Regional Cooperation in the Field of Telecommunication, including emergency states; and

- Organizing the coordination of member-states of the Regional Cooperation in the Field of Telecommunication for solving issues on upgrading and improving the existing services, as well as introducing new services in the interstate mail exchange.
