Uzbekistan and Greece can launch a direct flight between the capitals of the two countries and open a visa center in Tashkent, Uzbek media reported referring to the Greek delegation, which had been to Tashkent earlier this week.

The Greek delegation included the owner of the Orange2Fly airline Pantelios Sofianos and the president of the Greco-Eurasian alliance and the Greco-Uzbek center of cultural and economic cooperation Xenophon Lambrakis.

The purpose of the delegation's visit was to consider the possibility of launching the Athens-Tashkent flight and opening of the Greek visa center.

On August 22, the delegation met with the leadership of the State Inspection of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Flight Safety Oversight and Uzbekistan's national flag carrier "Uzbek Airlines".

The details of launching the flight on the Orange2Fly aircraft were discussed during the meeting.

The delegation also visited Samarkand to explore the sights of the city and its tourist potential.
