Customs service of Turkmenistan improves export control

The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan has participated in an online seminar on raising knowledge in the field of goods trade and export control, that was held within the framework of the global Container Control Programme (CCP), Trend reports with reference to Business Turkmenistan information portal.

The seminar was organized by the regional branch of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), within the framework of the UNODC and World Customs Organization Container Control Programme.

The seminar is part of the remote learning activities for Turkmenistan’s container transport control, planned for 2020 and aimed at improving the skills of employees of State Customs Service of Turkmenistan in the field of export control, as well as the use of modern customs control methods.

The regional segment of the CCP for Central Asia is funded by Japan and the U.S. - Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs as well as The Export Control and Related Border Security (EXBS).

CCP was established in 2004 by UNODC and WCO. Turkmenistan joined it in 2009.

During this period, offices of port control groups were established at the international customs terminal and at the international seaport of Turkmenbashi. In addition, various trainings for customs officers are held on a regular basis.
