Railway line No. 4 in the Shahid Rajae port of Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) has been repaired and will be commissioned next week, Chairman of Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran’s (PMO) branch in Hormozgan Province Alireza Mohammadi said, Trend reports citing the organization.

Mohammadi emphasized that a total of 340 billion rials (about $8.09 million) was spent on the repair of railway lines No.4 and No.5 in the Shahid Rajaee port.

The chairman added that the repair work of No. 5 line is completed by 94 percent.

"Currently, 40 people are working on the repair of these railways, and after their commissioning, more the 15 people will be employed," he said.

Railway lines No.4 and 5 are close to the 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th warehouses of the port, and this creates ample opportunities for storage of products.

"The connection of these lines to the national Iranian railway network, as well as to the North-South corridor, is a reliable way for the transit of products to neighboring countries," he said.
