Iran launches new wagons

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 21

As many as 526 new and repaired wagons were launched in Iran on December 21, 2021, Trend reports citing the Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran.

In total, 7.94 trillion rials (about $189 million) have been spent in this regard.

So, Iran has launched 500 new freight wagons worth 6.6 trillion rials (about $157 million) and 1 new passenger wagon worth 160 billion rials (about $3.8 million).

At the same time, 25 repaired wagons worth 1.18 trillion rials (about $28 million) were launched.

These wagons were ordered by 12 local companies and manufactured and repaired by 7 local companies in the country.

Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Rostam Ghasemi and the new head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways (RAI) Miad Salehi attended the event dedicated in this regard.
