Railway authorities of TITR countries to create joint venture

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 11. The railway authorities of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Turkey participating in the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) will create a Middle Corridor joint venture, Trend reports via the Ukrainian Rail Expo website.

The work to create a joint venture is underway.

Gaidar Abdikerimov, Secretary General of the TITR Association, speaking at the RailFreight Summit, said that the joint venture will be officially registered in early or mid-2023.

Besides, according to Rail Expo, the joint venture will provide high-quality intermodal transport and logistics services, harmonize cross-border tariffs, and introduce a unified IT platform for the full automation of cargo transportation services from China to Turkey.

"As part of this joint venture, it’s planned to combine the international North-South corridor with the ports of the Caspian Sea, expanding the corridor to Iran and Arab countries along the Persian Gulf, East Africa and India," added Rail Expo.

Earlier, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Kazakhstan signed a quadripartite declaration "On the Trans-Caspian East-West Corridor", which outlines steps to strengthen the transit potential of the countries participating in this document.
