Iran sees surge in cargo movements at Genaveh port

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 21. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Genaveh port of the Bushehr Province (southern Iran) increased by 35 percent in the 12th month of the last Iranian year (February 20 through March 20, 2022), compared to the 11th month (January 21 through February 19, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, more than 16,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the port in the 12th month. About 3,890 tons of cargo were loaded and 12,200 tons were unloaded.

Also, 1,360 tons of cargo were exported and 726 tons were imported through the Genaveh port during the reporting month.

Within the 12th month, 2,520 tons of cargo were loaded and 2,000 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage.

In addition, 1,740 tons of cargo were unloaded in the port for transshipment, as well as 7,740 tons were unloaded for other purposes in the 12th month.

In total, 1,360 tons of construction and mining materials, 12,700 tons of small and assorted products and 2,030 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in the Genaveh port within the 12th month of the current Iranian year.

About 12.2 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 12th month of the last Iranian year. Of this, 6.2 million tons were loaded and 5.98 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 5.3 percent, compared to the same month of the preceding Iranian year.
