BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 11. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port of the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran) increased by 22.7 percent, in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, more than 313,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port in the 2nd month. Of this, about 75,000 tons were loaded and over 238,000 tons were unloaded.
Also, 73,700 tons of cargo were exported and about 123,000 tons were imported through the Chabahar port over the reporting month.
Furthermore, 30 tons of cargo were loaded, while 490 tons were unloaded in the port for transit in the 2nd month.
According to the statistics, about 115,000 tons of cargo were unloaded in the port for cabotage, as well as 1,250 tons were loaded for other purposes during the 2nd month.
About 115,000 tons of essential products, 4 tons of metal products, 73,500 tons of construction and mining materials, and 2,080 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 332 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 79 tons of small and assorted products, 7,480 tons of container products and over 115,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.
In general, more than 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.47 million tons were loaded and 7.12 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 17.5 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
