TEHRAN, Iran, August 22. The managing director of Khazar Sea Shipping Lines, an IRISL subsidiary, Davoud Tafti, announced the country`s readiness to provide postal shipping services to Russia through the Caspian sea, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Davoud Tafti said that the Khazar Sea Shipping Lines will insure mail security during transit.
The Khazar Sea Shipping Lines operates at least two shipping lines from Iran’s Caspian Sea port of Anzali to Russian ports in Astrakhan, per week. Iran's Maritime official announced the country`s readiness to launch a similar shipping route to Russia from the Amirabad and Nowshahr ports of Iran.
According to Iran`s official, Khazar Sea Shipping Lines has imposed a 20 percent discount on shipping tariffs on imported and exported postal cargoes to Russia.
Iran has also lifted the storage costs at e Russian-Iranian port of Solyanka in Astrakhan for postal items for the first month.
