BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 27. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Amirabad port in the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran), increased by 3.44 percent in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2023), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports.
Approximately 329,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at this port during the reporting month. Of that, 85,900 tons were loaded and about 243,000 tons were unloaded.
About 76,600 tons of cargo were exported and over 234,000 tons were imported through the Amirabad port in the 1st month.
Within the 1st month, 9,290 tons of cargo were loaded and 7,400 tons were unloaded in the port for transit.
Also, 43 tons of cargo were loaded and 866 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes during the 1st month.
Some 210,000 tons of essential products, 2,870 tons of metal products, 76,600 tons of construction and mining materials, and 5,410 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded at the Amirabad port in the 1st month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 10,100 tons of chemicals, 2,520 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 23 tons of small and assorted goods, 973 tons of container products, and 20,100 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded, and unloaded at the port over the mentioned month.
In total, 11.9 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 1st month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.22 million tons were loaded and 6.68 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 0.7 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
