Volume of loaded/unloaded cargo at Iran’s Bushehr port drops

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 3. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Bushehr port in the same named province (southern Iran) decreased by 8.8 percent, in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Trend reports.

According to the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization's (PMO) report, this port loaded and discharged about 313,000 tons of cargo during the reporting month. 165,000 tons were emptied and 148,000 tons were loaded from this.

The Bushehr port handled 53,200 tons of imports and 145,000 tons of exports during the third month.

In the third month, 1,930 tons of goods were loaded and roughly 112,000 tons were emptied for cabotage, in addition to 85 tons being loaded and 152 tons being unloaded at the port for transit.

At the same time, 560 tons of cargo were loaded at the port for other purposes.

Some 9,460 tons of essential products, 197 tons of metal products, 124,000 tons of construction and mining materials, and 5,480 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded at the Bushehr port in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year.

Additionally, during the time frame mentioned, this port loaded and unloaded nearly 133,000 tons of crude oil and oil products, 695 tons of chemicals, 3,870 tons of leather, clothes, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 10 tons of tiny and various commodities, and 36,000 tons of container products.

In the third month of the current Iranian year, roughly 13.2 million tons of goods were loaded and discharged in Iranian ports. 7.64 million tons of that were unloaded compared to 5.55 million tons that were loaded. Comparing this month to the equivalent one in the previous Iranian year, there has been an increase of 9 percent.
