BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 7. Cargo transit through the customs of Iran’s Kermanshah Province (western Iran) increased by 34 percent in value and 87 percent in volume, during the first 5 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, an official of the Kermanshah Province Customs Office Ali Asghar Abbaszadeh said, Trend reports.
Abbaszadeh noted that in total, 1.13 million tons of cargo worth $385 million were transited through the customs of the province in 5 months.
“Over 5 months, the most cargo - 1.08 million tons worth approximately $361 million were transited through Parvizkhan customs of Iran’s Kermanshah Province. This made up 94 percent in value and 96 percent in volume of total transit via the province's customs,” the official added.
According to him, the main transited goods were mazut, naphtha, bitumen, etc.
Overall, 6.2 million tons of cargo transited through Iran for the first five months of the current Iranian year, representing a 5.4 percent increase in volume from the same period of the previous year.
