Kazakhstan implementing green projects through EDB support

At the moment, "green" projects are being implemented in Kazakhstan through the support of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), the bank told Trend on May 25.

Thus, today the EDB portfolio in Kazakhstan has several projects totaling $121 million.

1. The first bond program of Samruk-Energy JSC for 100 billion tenge ($234.7 million). The EDB purchased bonds of the third issue worth 21.7 billion tenge ($65.09 million) on November 30, 2018 with a maturity up to 2025. The funds were partially used to modernize Shardarinskaya HPP JSC.

2. Ereymentau Wind Power LLP - construction of a 50 MW wind farm near Ereymentau city. The project cost is 30 billion tenge ($70.4 million). The EDB loan amount is 23.2 billion tenge ($54.4 million). At present, the project includes construction and the EDB loan disbursement.

3. 100 MW solar power plant in Akmola region, project cost - 80 million euros, loan amount - 65 million euros.

4. Seven solar power plants with a total capacity of 149 MW in the southern regions of Kazakhstan (Almaty region, South Kazakhstan region, Shymkent, Kyzylorda region), project cost - 118 million euros, loan amount - 95 million euros.
