The turnover of non-commodity goods in Kazakhstan amounted to $46.7 billion from January through July 2023, which is 21.7 percent more than in the same period last year, said Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kayrat Torebayev, Trend reports.
"Exports of non-commodity goods for seven months of this year amounted to $14.2 billion. Exports of services amounted to $2.1 billion, which is 16.7 percent higher than in the same period of the previous year. The top 3 non-commodity export goods are copper and copper cathodes, ferroalloys, and uranium," he said on the platform of the Central Communications Service.
According to him, there has been a qualitative improvement in the diversification of the product basket and an expansion of export geography. The main sales markets traditionally remain Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Türkiye and the Netherlands. At the same time, a significant increase in supplies to EU countries, China, and Central Asian countries was recorded.
"Work continues to provide financial and non-financial support measures to exporters. To date, more than 100 companies have taken part in international trade events: including trade missions in seven countries and an international exhibition in China. During the first half of the year, the result of government support was the conclusion of export contracts worth more than $500 million," he added.
The foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan in January through June 2023 amounted to $67.2 billion. In nominal terms, trade turnover increased by 4.3 percent compared to January through June 2022. Exports: $38 billion (in nominal terms, 10.3 percent less), imports: $29.2 billion (32.2 percent more in nominal terms).
