ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 18. The influx of investment in fixed capital in the field of transport and warehousing in Kazakhstan reached 2.53 trillion tenge ($5.62 billion) in 2023, Trend reports.
According to Kazakhstan's Institute of Economic Research, this is 720 billion tenge ($1.6 billion), or 40.3 percent more than a year earlier.
Thus, more than half of the investments were made in the subsector of cargo warehousing and auxiliary transport activities - 1.341 trillion tenge ($2.98 billion). This is 287 billion tenge ($640 million), or 27.2 percent more than a year earlier.
At the same time, investments in land and pipeline transport activities increased to 1.113 trillion tenge ($2.47 billion), which is 479 billion tenge ($1.06 billion), or 75.6 percent more than a year earlier.
The most significant growth in investment is observed in the following subsectors: pipeline transport - 1.9 times, up to 523 billion tenge ($1.16 billion), freight railway transport - 3 times, up to 260 billion tenge ($580 million)
To date, 13 international transport corridors have been formed and are in operation in Kazakhstan, including 5 railways and 8 roads.
Furthermore, about $30 billion has been invested in the transport and logistics infrastructure of Kazakhstan over the past 10 years.
Moreover, in the next five years, at least 40 billion euros will be needed to implement major infrastructure projects in the field of transportation in Kazakhstan.
