BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 27. Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Energy Doskul Bekmurzaev revealed the volume of the country's electricity generation in the first half of 2022, Trend reports via Kabar.kg.
According to him, Kyrgyzstan's OJSC "Electric Stations" from January through June 2022 generated a total of 6.6 billion kWh of electricity.
"In order to preserve the water resources of the Toktogul reservoir and successfully pass the upcoming heating season, it is planned to increase the load of the Bishkek thermal power plant to 155 MW in summer and up to 420 MW in winter," he said.
Earlier, Bekmurzaev noted that nowadays Kyrgyzstan is in the process of implementing reforms in the energy sector, which are aimed to increase cost efficiency and the effectiveness of energy companies.
Remarkably, Electric Stations OJSC is a generating company that produces 98 percent of all electricity in Kyrgyzstan.
