BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 18. Kyrgyz commercial banks from January through July 2022 generated a significant amount of profits, Trend reports with reference to the economist.kg.
According to the preliminary data, the net profits of commercial banks in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 10.8 billion soms ($134.1 million), which is 5.3 times higher than in the corresponding period of last year (2 billion soms, or $25.2 million).
"The profits made in just seven months of this year are a record for Kyrgyzstan's banking industry. In the years prior to 2018, banks did not earn more than 3 billion soms ($37 million)," the message said.
Meanwhile, in 2019 net profits of Kyrgyz banks reached 2.9 billion soms ($36.4 million), in 2020 - 2.3 billion soms ($28.4 million) and 3.6 billion soms ($44.4 million) in last year.
