BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 11. Kyrgyzstan’s GDP amounted to 677.2 billion soms ($7.6 billion) from January through August 2023, according to preliminary estimates, Trend reports.
Data from the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan revealed that the country's GDP grew by 3.3 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
It was noted that the value of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan reached approximately 289 billion soms ($3.2 billion) from January through August 2023, which is a 0.3 percent increase compared to the same period of 2022.
The growth was notable in the construction sector, where the volume increased by 11.3 percent, and in wholesale and retail trade, which saw a 15.5 percent increase. In contrast, the agricultural sector experienced a decrease of 1.5 percent.
Looking back at the previous year, Kyrgyzstan's GDP increased by 7 percent in 2022, reaching a total of 919 billion soms ($10 billion).
