Kyrgyzstan's imports of passenger cars from Lithuania uptick

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 31. Kyrgyzstan's imports of passenger cars from Lithuania from January through August this year increased by 2.3 times year-on-year, Trend reports.

Data from the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan reveals that the country imported 2,507 passenger cars from Lithuania during these 8 months, compared to 1,057 cars imported during the same period in 2022.

The total value of these imports was $37.185 million, which is an increase of 3.2 times compared to the same period last year ($11.479 million).

In total, Kyrgyzstan imported over 102,174 passenger cars from January trough August 2023, valuing nearly $1.371 billion. The import volume increased by 4.6 times compared to the same period of the previous year, and the value rose by 6.5 times year-on-year.

During this period, the highest number of cars were imported from South Korea, with 34,086 cars valued at $284.365 million, followed by China with 22,073 cars valued at $360.560 million.

Overall, Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $9.407 billion from January through August 2023, which is an increase of 27.3 percent compared to the same period in 2022.

Exports amounted to $1.85 billion, increasing 46.7 percent year-on-year. Imports reached $7.556 billion, growing by 23.3 percent compared to the same months in 2022.
