BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 22. Tajikistan aims to complete the implementation of the CASA-1000 regional energy project, said the head of the Tajik project implementation office Faizali Samiyev, Trend reports referring to the Tajik Media.
"By the end of this year, we plan to complete the construction of all power lines (within the framework of the CASA-1000 project) on the territory of our country,” Samiyev said.
According to him, almost all construction works in Tajikistan were completed, about 5-7 percent of the work remains.
Samiyev noted that all the necessary equipment for construction has been already purchased, the main part of the equipment was purchased in Sweden and some other European countries, some of it was delivered from Russia, China, India, Türkiye.
"The total length of power lines in Tajikistan is 280 km, Afghanistan - 570 km, Kyrgyzstan - 450 km, a small part falls on the territory of Pakistan," he said.
Notably, the total cost of CASA-1000 project, the participants of which are Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan and Pakistan is $1 billion.
