BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 24. Tajikistan plans to increase food exports to Russia's Sverdlovsk region, said the First Deputy Chairman of the Advisory Council at the Consulate General of Tajikistan in Yekaterinburg Yakubzhan Umarov, Trend reports referring to the Tajik Media.

According to him, during the recent visit of Tajik delegation to the Sverdlovsk region, an agreement with several entrepreneurs on the supply of salt, vegetables, fruits, dried fruits were signed.

"The volume of food exports from Tajikistan to Sverdlovsk region is planned to increase by about two to three times in 2023", Umarov said.

He also noted that a special cold storage facility is currently being built in Tajikistan for the purpose of increasing trade turnover.

As reported, the value of Tajikistan's exports to the Urals Federal District of Russia for 6 months of 2022 exceeded $70 million. Meanwhile, in 2021, it was $50 million.
