BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 3. The total amount of foreign direct investment attracted into the economy of Tajikistan from January to September 2022 amounted to $221.3 million, according to the State Committee for Investments and State Property Management of Tajikistan, Trend reports via Tajik media.

Among the regions, the main share of foreign investors fell on Sughd province of the country - over $115 million.

The rest are:

Khatlon Province – $60 million;

Dushanbe city – $45 million;

Districts under Tajikistan Central Government Jurisdiction – $682,000;

The Badakhshan Mountainous Autonomous Region – $665,000.

Among the cities and districts of the country, the top three in attracting foreign direct investment are Guliston city ($106.3 million) in Sughd province, Danghara town ($49.8 million) in Khalton province, and Sino district in Dushanbe ($29.3 million).

The main share of investments in Districts under Tajikistan Central Government Jurisdiction fell on Rudaki district ($497,200).

Among the investments into the Badakhshan Mountainous Autonomous Region, the largest share was made into Murghob district ($452,600).

In addition to investments in securities and other investments (loans, grants), foreign capital in the amount of $405.7 million flowed into Tajikistan during the responding period.

In general, for 9 months of 2022, only 21 out of 68 cities and regions of Tajikistan received foreign direct investment.
