DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 19. Tajikistan is interested in attracting investments from South Korea in various sectors of the economy, Trend reports.

This was announced by Mahmadtohir Zokirzoda, Chairman of the Assembly of Representatives of the Supreme Assembly of Tajikistan, at the plenary session during the first conference of parliamentary speakers from South Korea and Central Asia, held in Seoul.

He mentioned that since the early days of its independence, Tajikistan has recognized the importance of strengthening multifaceted relations with Central Asian countries and South Korea.

"We are ready to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in various sectors, including investments, culture, and other areas that align with the interests of our countries," Zokirzoda said.

He emphasized that Tajikistan has diverse relationships with Central Asian countries and South Korea, which offers opportunities for fruitful collaboration in sectors such as economy, hydroenergy, textiles, light industry, chemicals, food production, mining, processing of rare minerals and metals, machinery, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, transportation, and tourism.

According to him, introducing new forms of cooperation in these areas could significantly enhance trade and economic relations among the participating countries. To achieve this, the potential utilization of financial institutions, including the Korean International Cooperation Agency, is important.

It is expected that the plenary session will be an important step towards further development and strengthening of relations between the participating countries, including inter-parliamentary relations.
