Turkmenistan aims to digitalize science

Turkmenistan has developed a draft program for 2020-2025 to digitalize science, Trend reports referring to local Altyn Asyr TV channel.

The document has been developed in accordance with the national legislative acts.

The main goals are to increase the efficiency of scientific, technical and innovative activity through the use of digital technologies, as well as the economic viability of research and development work, strengthen international cooperation in this field, ensure closer interconnection among science, education and production, render scientific, technical and intellectual support for digital transformations in the economy.

“State support for this sphere is greatly increasing every year through financing the promising scientific research, experimental and technological development,” the Turkmen Dovlet Khabarlary state news agency said.

The Concept for the Development of the Digital Economy, developed for the period until 2025, has been implemented in Turkmenistan since early 2019.

The document is a "road map" of technological transformation of all sectors and state governance, the formation of the economy based on the resource and production potential of the country.

The concept is aimed at increasing business and investment activity, implementing advanced methods of public administration, creating new jobs.

Turkmenistan stimulates the development of telemedicine, online education, distance learning and e-government tools. Digitization of economic, production, and management processes will allow the creation of smart cities.
