Turkmenistan’s state commodity and raw materials exchange reveals number of registered transactions

Some 46 transactions were registered at the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan last week, Trend reports citing the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

According to the information, entrepreneurs from Russia, Switzerland, Turkey, Afghanistan and the Marshall Islands purchased polypropylene, gasoline, aviation kerosene produced at the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries for foreign currency.

Also, businessmen from the UAE, Turkey, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan purchased liquefied gas (Turkmengaz State Concern) and heavy vacuum gas oil produced at the Seydi oil refinery.

In addition, float glass, cotton yarn, one-colored and jacquard terry products and dry extract of licorice were sold for foreign currency. Purchasing countries: UAE, Turkey, Ukraine, Serbia, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan. The total amount of transactions exceeded $31.7 million.

Representatives of business circles from the United Arab Emirates and Armenia purchased cotton yarn for a total amount of more than 39.3 million manats ($11 million).

At the same time, domestic businessmen bought substandard polypropylene film produced at the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries. The volume of the transaction amounted to 3.7 million manats ($1 million), and Portland cement was purchased for more than $541,000.
