Turkmenistan’s economy to grow in 2022

Turkmenistan's GDP is expected to grow by 6.5 percent in 2022, Turkmen Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who oversees the economic and financial issues, said during a briefing with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, Trend reports.

While reporting on the priority tasks for 2022, the deputy prime minister said that specific measures will be taken to increase the potential of the national economy, ensure sustainable development in all spheres and regions, increase the profitability and competitiveness of industries.

“Turkmenistan intends to widely introduce a digital system in all spheres, develop an electronics industry, increase the volumes of export-oriented domestic industrial products, reduce the import volume by increasing local production, support private entrepreneurship by creating favorable conditions for business,” the deputy prime minister added.

The deputy prime minister stressed that as a result of increasing the economic efficiency in all sectors and the successful implementation of large-scale reforms and programs, GDP growth will reach 6.5 percent in 2022.

The important facilities, in particular, recreation centers, schools, kindergartens, clean drinking water supply systems, residential buildings for people in need, will be built through capital investments in 2022.

Some issues of the current state domestic and foreign policy were put on the agenda.
