BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 31. Turkmenistan's trade turnover with Iran increased significantly from January through June 2022, Trend reports via “Business Turkmenistan” news agency.
During the reporting period, the trade turnover between the two countries reached $233 million, while for the whole of 2021 - $227 million.
Furthermore, according to forecasts, by the end of 2022, the volume of trade between Turkmenistan and Iran will almost double the volume of last year. This growth was made possible thanks to Iran's new policy of expanding economic ties with its neighbors.
Recently, a border market opened on the border of Turkmenistan and Iran, after 34 months of downtime due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
