BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 14. Turkmenistan has significantly increased the production and export of electricity for 2022, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Charymyrat Purchekov at an expanded meeting of the government held on February 10.
According to him, during the reporting period, the growth rate of electricity production amounted to 109.3 percent, and its exports - by 124.6 percent.
Furthermore, the Deputy Chairman noted that the plan for the manufacturing of products and the work done by the Ministry of Energy as a whole has been exceeded by 31 percent.
During the meeting, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov dismissed Charymyrat Purchekov from his post in connection with the transition to another job. The head of state appointed Baymyrat Annamamedov to the post of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers for construction, relieving him of the post of Minister of Industry and Construction Production.
Turkmenistan is actively integrating into the unified energy system of Central Asia. It is expected that by 2025 Turkmenistan will contribute to the construction of new power plants, transmission lines, modern transformer substations, and distribution facilities.
