BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 17. Turkmenistan discussed issues of improving rail transportation with foreign partners, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
This issue was discussed on May 15 in Ashgabat at the XXXIV meeting of representatives of the Parties to the Agreement on the International Railway Transit Tariff, dedicated to the improvement and updating of this document.
The forum was attended by representatives of the parties from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, the Czech Republic, the Committee of the Organization for Cooperation Between Railways (OSJD), as well as the affiliated enterprises - OTKL ERA JSC, STM LLC, PLASKE JSC.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation within the framework of OSJD and the expansion of the contractual and legal framework of cooperation
Agreement on the International Railway Transit Tariff is an agreement between two dozen countries that establishes uniform rules and tariffs for the transportation of goods by rail in transit mode. Turkmenistan joined this agreement in May 2022.
