(nCa) --- During a ceremony at the presidential palace Monday, Turkmenistan and China signed five agreements for mutual cooperation.
The signing ceremony took place at the end of a lengthy meeting between President Niyazov and Yu Guang Zhou, Chinas deputy minister for commerce and head of the Chinese delegation, reports Trend.
The agreements signed Monday would expand mutual cooperation in textiles, banking, oil & gas, communications and customs services.
President Niyazov termed the signing of agreements as the start of our big political, economic and cultural cooperation.
He also underlined that all efforts would be made to inaugurate the natural gas pipeline to China by January 2009.
Yu Guang Zhou is leading a large Chinese delegation, packed with experts on various areas of industry and economy.
The Niyazov-Zhou meeting took place at the working office of the Turkmen president.
After more than two hours of tГЄte-Г -tГЄte, President Niyazov and Yu Guang Zhou moved to the conference room where the talks continued in the expanded format.
