BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 5
By Klavdiya Romakayeva - Trend:
Some 2,067.700 tons of fruits and berries were produced by all categories of farms produced in Uzbekistan from January through September, increasing by 3.9 percent compared to the same period in 2019, Trend reports citing State Statistics Committee.
The total volume of fruits and berries production falls on the share of dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms amounting to 61.3 percent.
However, their share in fruit production decreased by 1.5 percent compared to the reported period in 2019.
The production of fruits and berries in organizations engaged in agricultural activities is developing most actively. Over the past nine months, their production increased by 80 percent compared to the same indicator of the previous year.
The reason for this rapid growth is the active clustering of agricultural production in Uzbekistan.
Andijan region continues to lead significantly in fruit production, accounting for more than 1/5 of the gross harvest of fruits and berries.
The main breakthrough in the production of fruits and berries was made by the Fergana region, followed by the Samarkand region.
A 4.2 percent decline in the production of fruits and berries was observed in the Syrdarya region, which was damaged as a result of the breakthrough of one of the dams of the Sardoba reservoir, which occurred on May 1, 2020.
