The largest share in the total volume of products produced by metallurgical industry in Uzbekistan falls on the Navoi region, amounting to 56.4 percent or 30 metallurgical enterprises, Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
At the same time, the share of metallurgical products made by enterprises in Tashkent region and Tashkent city amounted to 35.6 percent and six percent, respectively.
Thus, the number of metallurgical enterprises operating in Tashkent region amounted to 132 enterprises and 283 enterprises operate in Tashkent city.
As of December 1, 997 enterprises of the metallurgical industry operating in Uzbekistan produced goods worth 70.9 trillion soums ($6.77 billion) from January through November 2020.
The physical volume index of metallurgical industry operating in Uzbekistan compared to same period in 2019 increased by 6.3 percent.
In particular, the production of copper wire increased by 1.2 percent, while production of aluminum wire increased by 80.8 percent.
It was noted that the volume of exported metallurgical industry products from January through November 2020 in value terms amounted to $1.114 million, which is 7.8 percent of the total export of the country.
