Uzbekistan approved forecast volumes of production of the main types of food and agricultural products in the context of regions, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan.
It is reported that the level of ensuring the volume of production of basic types of food and agricultural products in Uzbekistan in 2021 will be provided at the expense of domestic resources.
According to the presidential decree on additional measures to guarantee the provision of the domestic consumer market with the main types of food products, the country will produce 2,449,108 tons of potatoes, 227,222 tons of rice, 1,584,863 tons of meat, 8,124,595 eggs.
The decree also approved the forecast volumes of production of the main types of food and agricultural products in the context of regions.
Also, seed stocks will be created for sowing potatoes on an area of at least 10 percent of the annual area of potato sowing, a total of at least 87,000 hectares.
In addition, it is planned to import 78,000 tons of vegetable oil, 64,000 tons of sugar, 300,000 tons of potatoes and 40,000 tons of meat.
The ministry noted that commercial banks will issue loans to business entities to replenish working capital in order to timely import food and agricultural products from abroad.
