BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 26. Uzbekistan put into operation 6 new thermal power plants with a total capacity of 1,374 MW and 1 solar photovoltaic plant with a capacity of 100 MW from January through November 2022, Trend reports via Uzbek Ministry of Energy.
These power plants together generate 11.3 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity per year.
At the same time, the installation of energy-saving equipment at new power plants will save 1.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year.
During the construction of the power plants, 3,960 jobs were created, as a result of their commissioning - 545 new jobs.
